1 Introduction
Implant and restorative dentistry services improve the function of your teeth so you can eat, smile, and socialise without worrying about missing or damaged teeth. Dental implants replace teeth that are missing along with the tooth root, which helps prevent jawbone deterioration. Restorative dentistry repairs teeth that are damaged and can replace missing teeth, which restores your bite and can improve the look of your teeth.

If you have missing teeth, damaged teeth, painful teeth or mouth or gum infection, restorative dental treatments may be a suitable option. Damaged and missing teeth can make you feel uncomfortable in public, and eating may be painful. Repairing damaged teeth or replacing missing teeth can improve your oral health and help you smile again.
Full Mouth Reconstruction
Combining the technology of restorative dentistry and the artistry of cosmetic treatments, a full-mouth reconstruction can improve your oral health and your smile.
This treatment is best for patients who have many dental problems that need to be resolved, and may include dental crowns, bridges, implants, veneers, or a number of other treatments. Dr Peter Poulos will create a beautiful reconstruction based on your facial features and oral health goals.
Dental Crown and Bridge
Dental crowns are restorations that cover and protect a tooth that is damaged and can protect a tooth that has undergone root canal treatment. A crown looks, feels, and functions much like a natural tooth, and will also preserve your natural tooth, so you keep it in your mouth longer.
A dental bridge consists of one or two crowns, used to anchor a prosthesis in place that will replace a missing tooth or a series of missing teeth. A bridge can be a cost-effective and convenient way to restore function to your teeth and improve the look of your smile.
Dental Implant
A dental implant is used in conjunction with an abutment and dental crown to replace a missing tooth and its root. The implant is a small titanium post that is inserted into the jawbone and stimulates a healing process called osseointegration, in which the bone builds around the implant.
This healing process is how the jawbone is saved from deterioration, which helps preserve the structural shape of your face around the mouth after tooth loss.
All-Teeth-on-Four
This reconstructive treatment replaces a full arch of teeth, which are supported on just four dental implants. The implants are strategically placed to evenly support the bite force, so your teeth not only look great but function like your own natural teeth.
Other restorative dentistry services include dental fillings, inlays and onlays, dental bonding, and dentures. We offer a range of treatments to meet different patient needs.
Sinus Graft/lift
A sinus graft is a specific type of bone graft that may be required if you intend to replace upper back teeth with dental implants. The teeth in this area are closer to your sinus cavities which are large air filled spaces, so the jawbone is naturally thinner and less able to support dental implants.
Bone Grafting
Dr Poulos uses quality bone grafting materials that are biocompatible, encouraging the growth of new bone cells and creating strong and healthy new bone. Bone grafting is a technique routinely carried out as part of dental implant treatment. Dr Poulos will discuss the procedure, risks, and recovery with you at your consultation.
Image Guided Surgery
In order to support precise and considered dental implant treatment, Dr Peter Poulos uses image guided surgery. This helps place each implant in the planned position, making treatment smoother and more predictable.
Sedation
Sedation dentistry can promote a sense of deep relaxation, helping patients manage fears and anxieties so they can receive dental treatment more comfortably. One form of sedation dentistry is to use sleep or intravenous sedation, but this might be more than you need. Another frequently used form of sedation is nitrous oxide or happy gas.
